A Busy Summer

5/24/2018

Folks, it would be a lie if I told you that we didn't have a ton of stuff going on this summer. And I am many things... dishonest is not one of them.

Saturday June 2nd we've got our first ever Mini-Cassia Market here at the shop. From 7 am till 3 pm we've got vendors, food, music, all that jazz happening here at Acadia. If you're looking for something new and fun to do, give us a try. You might like it. Plus if this one goes well I'd love to do another one in the fall. If that one goes well.... well who knows.

Not only that we've got the Southern Idaho Youth Theatrics group here working super hard on their next performance. It's got something to do with shoes and a dog and a road and a lot of green I think. I've seen the costumes. They can tell you more if you've got questions.

We also have our Summer Concert Series that's going to kick off June 26. I think I'll put together a little page for that around here somewhere. In fact, if you click HERE you can probably go right to it for more information. Because we're living in the future, you can click HERE and get your tickets.

Plus we're super happy and excited to be hosting All That Falls, The Mystic, and Red Moon Doggie here on Monday July 16. That's gonna be an awesome show. $10 at the door and we're gonna start rockin' this joint at 7:00 pm.

We've got some events scheduled with the DeMary Memorial Library that I'll get on the schedule when I had the rest of the information that I was most likely given and then lost.

We've got some new events going on over at Ginger's Java as well. If you didn't know, we sponsor their Friday Night Open Mic and we're working on a little open jam session kinda thing for the summer out on the patio. Should be super fun.

It's the last little bit of Drum Month at the shop as well. All the drum related stuff in here is going to be 10% off till the end of the month, we've got some buy one-get one deals on sticks, cymbals, accessories and all that jazz. So if you're in need for some drum goodies for yourself or someone you know, we got ya covered. You can check it out here.

And finally an update on the webstore here. I've been working away on it for a while now and I think we're about 95% done. I have a few things to finish up, mostly getting some pictures of stuff that came in since I started and that, but it is up and running. We've had a few orders come in and go out and I super appreciate the folks that have used it.

We've got an option on the store for local pickup so if you've gotta few minutes you shop while you're at home or work, not that you would at work of course. That would be naughty. But you can make your purchase and payment online and just stop by and pick up the item here at the shop should you choose to. We try and make it convenient like that.

Thanks folks. Have a great day.

Drum Month At Acadia Music

5/10/2018

Everyone plays drums. Anytime you've tapped the steering wheel while driving or your foot while sitting... you've been playing drums. Yeah. For reals.

This month at Acadia Music is Drum Month. Good tie in, eh?

All month long all drums, cymbals, sticks, heads, sheet music, whatever drum related is going to be an extra 10% off. On top of all that we're going to be running specials each week as well.

We've also got some Summer Concerts coming up starting in June, you can see the schedule over in the side bar.

Plus we've hosting the first annual Mini-Cassia Market on June 2nd. It's a Farmer's Market/Craft Fair/Street Fair kinda thing that we're holding here at Acadia Music.

April Is GUitar Month

4/16/2018

As you may, or may not know, April is Guitar Month at Acadia. That means you're gonna get an extra 10% off all guitars and amplifies and an extra 5% off guitar accessories all month long. Acoustic, electric, bass guitar, heck even ukuleles. Cause why not. That's why.

Also along with that news, the work is progressing slowly, but steadily, on the web store here at the site. And that's what I'd like to take a moment to talk about here.

What I like about the web store is that you have the opportunity to see what we've got in stock, how much of it we've got, different sizes/colors/options if any, what it normally retails for, and what we sell it for.

Plus I try to make sure that everything has a pretty good description to go along with it. Note the word "try" there.

Anyway, that's coming along... only a couple dozen more pages of stuff to go over and double check and all that jazz.

This Saturday, April 21st, we are hosting The Broadway Prince Party, which is a pretty fancy little dinner and a show kinda shindig. There are a few tickets still available so if you want come out and enjoy a very wonderful meal and some equally wonderful live entertainment this is gonna be the place for you. Give us a call if you'd like more information or check out the upcoming events on the right side of this page.

Jason is Bad at things - Also Welcome Laney!

2/22/2018

It's true. Jason is terrible at blogging. Like super bad. You should be embarrassed for him, that's really the only appropriate response.

Anyway. Hi, how are ya? How's your new year? Everything going smashing good? Good.

Down at the shop we're kinda in the middle of a little mini renovation/remodel kind of... thing... Basically, we moved some stuff, setup some new displays, made room for bigger and better and more(er) things here at the shop.

The sheet music section is ever growing, and we've even got a dedicated section for the new music that comes in. Be sure to stop in and check that out.

Second, we've moved the guitars to a little better spot in the shop and that's actually made us room to get a couple extra here and there, so that's gonna be nice. As soon as everyone is all stocked back up from the holiday season you can bet we're going to be getting some new guitars.

Speaking of new... WELCOME LANEY AMPS! We done went and got us setup with a brand new (to us) line of amplifiers from Laney. Laney Amplification has been around since about 1967 and are a pretty well respected brand. If you've heard just about any rock group from the UK from the 70's you've more than likely heard a Laney amp. Toni Iommi (Black Sabbath) is perhaps their most well known player. But you also have folks from Delta Underground, Lower Than Atlantis, Legacy Of Kain, INXS, Earth Wind And Fire, and several dozen more.

I've had a chance to play the few we've got in at the shop and they're awesome. If I needed another amp (which I absolutely don't), we'd have one fewer amp in stock right now. They sound great and are super reasonably priced.

Other than the ongoing cleanup and shuffle around here at the shop, that's the big news right now. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter and alerts. Stuff does tend to get done there a little more consistently. Oh yeah, and follow us on Instagram. New stuff every dang day there.

yeaaah buddy.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

11/30/2017

I don't know if you know this but tomorrow is December 1st.

I'll give you a minute to compose yourself for whatever reason you may need to.

Better? Ok. Good.

Who does like getting presents, right? Everyone likes getting stuff. It is the thought that counts and all but the gift itself makes the thought seem a little more... thoughtful. Right?

We got ya covered. Plenty of Christmas sheet music in stock for just about any instrument, we've got specials on guitars, bass guitars, drums, band and orchestra accessories, recordings, and everything else in the building even.

It's super awesome getting a new instrument as a gift. If it's an upgrade to something you've had for years it's almost like getting to start over again, but with a little more know how. If you're getting your very first instrument, or getting one for someone else... we can help.

From now until Christmas Eve we're offering one free lesson when you purchase an instrument here from the shop. New, used, consignment, doesn't matter. You wanna play guitar, we'll get you a guitar and get you started. Clarinet? Sure can. Drums? You betcha. Tambourine? Well, if you insist.

Check in with us on social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for any flash sales or specials for the day. And look for us on YouTube as well. We've still got Tuesday Tuneage videos going on every week and we even have a few new gear videos already up and new coming soon as well.

Thanks everyone. Have a great holiday season!

Good Progress

10/31/2017

Well everyone I'd be wrong if I told you that things weren't going well around here, cause they've been great this October. Thanks so much. We couldn't have done it without you.

October's over and done with and that means November is just beginning and as we all know that means Christmas is fast approaching. Didn't we just do all this last year? I swear we did.

We've got our Christmas music out and ready to go, we've got some piano's setup here in the store if you're into that kind thing. I can barely type let alone play the piano myself.

We've also had kind of a rush of items come in on consignment lately. We have some really cool vintage accordions, some guitar amps, a tenor saxophone, and a Ace Frehley (that's one of them there Kiss fellahs) guitar hanging up in the window as well. If you're looking for some unique stuff, check, this, stuff, out.

We've got things in store for the month of November so be sure to watch this space, check out our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also be sure you subscribe to us on YouTube for review videos, Tuesday Tuneage, demos, instructional videos, and all sorts of good stuff like that.

“October extinguished itself in a rush of howling winds and driving rain and November arrived, cold as frozen iron, with hard frosts every morning and icy drafts that bit at exposed hands and faces.”

Out With The Old

10/10/2017

There's that chill in the air that can only mean Autumn is upon us. Time for scarves, crunchy leaves, pumpkin spiced winterized motor oil and ever shortening days.
It also means that it's nearly winter and that also means it's nearly Christmas. And what, I ask you, would Christmas be without Christmas Music? A lot quieter. Silent Night and all that jazz, right?
We have some of our Christmas Music leftover here at the shop from last year and it needs a home. Plus we'd like to get in some more this year as well so until it's gone we're offering 15% off any Christmas Music from last years stock.
This isn't just a bunch of musty old tomes of tunes you've never heard of, we've got piano solo, piano vocal guitar, vocal solo, mandolin, recorder, guitar, and jazz arrangements form everyone's favorite Charlie Brown Christmas.

Don't believe me? Take a look.
Picture
And that's just what would fit in the frame.

I can personally vouch for the good-ness of the Charlie Brown book, and there's an guitar solo book there on the top row that is amazing. Feel free to browse through and sit down at a piano or with a guitar and try em out and see what you think.

So stop in, check it out, and see all the new stuff that's going on here at the shop. If you're really nice I might even offer you a delicious hot beverage.

Phase 1

10/3/2017

It's long been a goal here at the shop to get some music racks so we can better display the sheet music we have. And we do have it. We really do.

Well I am happy to announce that the first phase of that is done! We had a few racks arrive the other day so we've got them all filled and ready to go. The next phase of the project should be taking place within a month and it's gonna be even better.

Till then though, stop by and see what we've got in stock and feel free to sit down at a piano, grab a guitar, whatever, and see what kind of music you can make.

And as usual, if you don't see what you want, we're happy to get it for ya.
